Why

That's my question. You have one of the best hitters in the game on your bench. You're down by one run with two on. You've got guys that can be moved around if you do actually go into extra innings. Why not put Pujols in??? There has been several times in the past few years that Cardinal fans have questioned Tony...but now all N.L. fans will be doing that...especially the team that ends up in the world series. The was was right there waiting to be won. I can understand why he wouldn't pinch hit for Hudson...they more then likely would have walked Pujols. But why not with Rowand coming up???? Instead he the only player left on the bench at the end of the game was his own player.

I guess that Rowand has a much better average when batting with two outs this year. Pujols outdid him in nearly every other stat (incl. w/RISP, after the 7th inn, and one other) except that one. Pujols is hitting I think .276 w/2 outs, and Rowand is hitting well above that. You figure Tony was probably playing numbers again, and not just saving Pujols just in case they needed him (which is what he claims).
