Arm problems

Ahhh...such is the life of a MLB pitcher. So far this week two of the top pitchers in the game (Carpenter and BJ Ryan) have required surgery, Ryan's ending his season, while many other pitchers have found themselves on the DL do to sore arms, (Flash Gordon, King Felix, Rich Harden, Joel Zumaya just to name a few). A perfect example why giving these huge contracts are nothing short of insane!!! It also makes me wonder, with the frequency of injuries lately, it has to bring up the question of how prevalent are\were steroids in baseball. It seems like just as of the past few years, after MLB started to crack down on performance enhancers, that we have seen an on-slaught of injuries. In no way am I saying that all these injuries are due to steroids or anything. A perfect example is Carp's injury, one that was probably cause by the continued stress that he has put on his arm causing the bone spur. But it's just something for you to think about as you ponder who to pick up as you put Zumaya on the DL.
