Second Base

I've been keeping an eye on Adam Kennedy this season to see how much more he adds to our defense and all around gameplay. And so far I haven't been to impressed.

While he has made some acrobatic grabs this season, he has looked very sluggish in his throwing - after Looper struggled in the fifth inning tonight, Kennedy dribbled a routine toss to first to get Jenkins out and added to the momentum for the Brewers and giving room for Estrada to add an additional run. Even some of his flips over to Eckstein have been lazy and almost cost some plays.

What's worse - he's made some elementary mistakes in his baserunning this year and has already been tossed out a couple of times off of pick-offs as well as trying to stretch a single into a double.

At least Ronnie Belliard is hitting .307!! Let's hope Kennedy starts to sharpen things up and being to earn his keep now that we've offered a second baseman more than a 1-year contract.
