Possible Transactions

So will Izzy go to the Cubs (there's been some talking going on at MLBTradeRumors) - his value may be getting as high as it will be before he starts to slip again.

What about Jermaine Dye going to the Yankees for Bobby Abreu...or the Yanks backing out of their deal with Clemens?

I still think the Cubs will unload Zambrano - i don't see them signing him, and they may as well unload him while they can. they have some promise in their younger pitchers and i've heard they'd like to add another big bat and they can do that by unloading Big Z's paycheck. what if they grabbed A-Rod and dropped him in at Shortstop?! that would make for a huge batting order, but a hodge podge of personalities.

and i've yet to hear any serious ramblings on the Card's unloading Scott Rolen. i like the guy - but i'd be interested to see what we might get if we shopped him.

as usual, there are big names being thrown around all over the web - we'll see if anyone actually makes a move.

Man I don't see Walt sending Izzy to the Cubs. Their bullpen has been a big hole there for a few years now, especially their closer's roll. I think it's a general rule that you don't trade within your own division (let alone your biggest rival). Izzy may very well get traded but it won't be to the Cubs.
Before Friday I would have said that I didn't think the Cubs would ever trade Big Z. But after that blow-up in the dugout, I wouldn't be too surprised. Something is up with the guy. He has started out slow in the past but this seems to be different. Here's a doozy of a trade idea. Just pulling this one out of my rear. But what about a trade with the Yanks where the center pieces would be Big Z and A-Rod (maybe that was what you were saying in the post Justin but thought I would say it anyway). I would make sense in many ways. The Yanks need SP and with Clemens having groin pains that MIGHT linger....that could help them out quite a bit. And like Justin said, the Cubs could drop A-Rod at short. Talk about an unbelievable infield. Just imagine what it would be like if the Cubs played Soriano at 2B!!!!
I don't think we'll be seeing a trade involving Rolen since he's got a full no trade clause. Who knows though.
